After that day of work I had some time off... so I decided to tidey up and check my dating site for any 'unusual' messages... the kind that are not filled with promises and proposals. I log in, click on the message tab and about fell out of my chair! The cute guy answered... not once, but twice!!!
The first message was the formal, "hello, my name is, I am, I live, blah blah blah" the usual get-to-know-you info. He is my age, from Germany, and looking for a good honest woman. The second message was nice. His english was not so good but he gave it a good go. He explained a bit more in depth and admitted to 'checking out' my profile and found me very interessting. what? ME? pppppsh.... this amazing looking man that seems to have the ability to carry a conversation, who could probably have his choice of women, was interested in me? Mmmmmkay. But I answer back in my usual way, giving just enough info to for him to ask for more but in my light hearted sarcasm. Hey! It's who I am. :)
At the end of the message I gave my email address... I refuse to pay for a dating site and they have so many hooks and restrictions for free members that I opt to get to know someone online in a different way. AND IF he sends me an email I can search up his email address and see what I find about this guy who obviously does not need a dating site.... soooooooo, whats the sitch with him? Makes a person wonder................
I hit send... shut everything down and I was outdoor bound. I love the outdoors!!! The air, nature, earth... and the sun was shining. Time for some Vitamin D, a good book, and a seat by the river.

In the Beginning
So.... a quick overview?
It all started a year ago.... I see this guys profile on a dating site and thought he's pretty damn cute. Dark hair, light eyes, strong features, and he has that look... you know... THAT look. AAAAAAND.... get this... he wears the same piece of jewlrey around his neck that I wear around mine!!! And considering the pendant hanging from it is NOT very common, well... lets just say it really really drew my attention.
so
I sent a simple " you're cute :) ". That was it, nothing more, nothing less... and I figured I would never get a response back. It was meant as just a simple acknowledgement, something like a nod on the street or a simple passing smile in a night club. That and I am pret-ty positive that he hears it all the time anyway, out of my league... move along...
Back to surfing the latest information highways, checking email... "buy this and you will live forever" or "Dear Sir or Madam, I am a prince and I would like you to recieve x amount of money from me" haha!! yeah right buddy... not giving you one ounce of my personal info and who the hell wants to live forever anyway... delete delete delete... my eyes can take no more of the pixilization and my brain is on useless info overlaod... time for coffee. I close all my programs except my email cause I am waiting on my boss to tell me I have work to do.
So I'm in the kitchen making my favorite beverage when I hear the familiar 'ding ding' chime that lets me know I have email. I roll my eyes thinking "yep, you've got work". I slow the pace of my coffee building so that I can savor the last few moments of simple peace before I am stuck in a world of crunching numbers for hours. The warm sweet creamy vanilla flavored coffee is a moment of haven for all my senses. Then I hear the 'ding, ding' again. *sigh* "okay, okay... I'm freaking coming!" I stomp back to the computer, pouting like a child and look at my email. One from my boss and a notification from that dating site telling me I have a private message. Probably some young fool who wants to get married immediately and move me to god-knows-where.
So, I open my accounting program and get to work.... life is grand!

Hello Hallo Guten Tag Servus
Hallo,
My name is Michelle... I'm from America and 6 months ago I moved to my Grandfathers home land GERMANY. Here I met a wonderful German man, and we are now married. Life here is very interesting to say the least.
What I hope to write about will be the ups-downs, sites-wonders, dissapointments, exillerations, language barriers and the inward pride and trauma of moving to a new land with a completely new language and customs. All from the point of view of a cynical, sarcastic, and adventurous American woman.
So far, its been a ride... a loopty loop roller coaster ride complete with the gut wrenching twists and turns and glorious aaaaaaahs.
So ladies and gentlemen please fasten your seat belts, stay seated and keep your hands and legs inside the vehicle at all times!
